VCMA amendment drafted as groundbreaking pilot moves closer to reality

Following the successful tabling of the Vehicle Compliance Management Act (VCMA) amendment in the House of Lords on 16th October, momentum continues to build around this landmark initiative. The Public Bills Office has now formally drafted the amendment required for inclusion in the Crime and Policing Bill, with expectations that it will be added in the coming weeks.

Alan Wood, CEO of NPED Services Ltd, is now working closely with government officials to shape the operational detail of the VCMA pilot. This collaboration marks a critical phase in turning legislative ambition into practical enforcement capability.

Said Alan Wood: “We’re pleased to report that things are moving forward. The drafting of the amendment and our ongoing work with government signal real progress toward delivering safer streets and restoring control over vehicle compliance.”

The VCMA remains a cost-neutral, community-focused solution to persistent vehicle non-compliance, and continues to attract strong support from policymakers, law enforcement, and road safety advocates.
