VESOS registers patent application for its TeCall Alerts platform

VESOS, the specialist eCall data company, has successfully registered a patent application for its TeCall Alerts platform, reaching what it calls another important milestone in the development of the company.

Alan Gentle, Solutions Director and co-founder, said: “There are many steps on the road from concept to a successful product, and we are pleased to reach this next key milestone with our TeCall Alerts platform. Registering a patent application requires a level of product maturity beyond hand-waving proof-of-concepts, and takes us closer to a mature product.”

The TeCall Alerts Platform takes eCall data sent from vehicles equipped with the eCall safety system, and forwards TeCall Alerts to road authorities and emergency responders in real-time. These alerts are enhanced, filtered and prioritised using unique TeCall algorithms to ensure only the high value alerts are sent through, addressing the well-known issues with eCall false alarms. These alerts run in parallel with existing eCall handling procedures, to create a “fast-lane” early warning for those who need to know.

The TeCall Alerts platform is also “GDPR Aware” and ensures that the alerts cannot identify individuals from vehicle identification numbers. Said Alan, “GDPR is one of the key concerns that our clients raise with us for eCall data, and it’s one we take seriously. By designing in GDPR awareness we can give our clients confidence that the TeCall Alerts are anonymous.”

When every second counts in road safety, faster TeCall Alerts mean fewer deaths, better outcomes for serious injuries, and fewer secondary incidents.

Alan added, “VESOS is also evaluating AI models for eCall data to improve predictions of false alarms. TeCall Alerts is our first patent application, but we expect it will not be the last”.
