VivaCity wins inaugural exhibitors’ award at JCT Traffic Signals Symposium

VivaCity’s smart signals control solution has won the first ITS UK-sponsored “Most Innovative product or Service at the Exhibition” award at the JCT Traffic Signals Symposium in Nottingham.

The solution was chosen out of ten who were shortlisted for recognition at the popular event.

“Congratulations to VivaCity on winning the inaugural ITS UK’s Most Innovative Product or Service Award at the JCT Traffic Signal Symposium,” said ITS UK Chief Executive Max Sugarman.

He explained that the judges were “hugely impressed by Smart Signal Control: Detect, which uses multi-modal data, AI and computer vision technology to optimise transport modes and support vulnerable road users, including cyclists and pedestrians. What was clear was the impact the technology was already having in helping local authorities to make smart decisions about how best to utilise their networks and supportive active travel and public transport.”

NAL, Messagemaker, INRIX, Sensys Networks, NOW Wireless, smartmicro, SRL, Yunex Traffic and Norfolk County Council with Westcotec were also in the running.

“The quality and calibre of entries to the Award has been fantastic, with over ten submissions covering all forms of traffic technology,” added Mr Sugarman. “Well done to all who entered, each of whom have shown the innovation, dynamism and expertise of the UK transport technology sector, to provide greener, smarter and more effective products and services for traffic management.”
