Last week, VolkerHighways held its latest Driving the Future, client and supply chain engagement day, at Reading FC Stadium.
The one-day event brought together local authorities, public and private sector clients, supply chain partners and representatives from across VolkerHighways to an open-forum to explore the latest industry-leading technologies, products and services.
An insightful day where we heard from a range of speakers, sharing their insights and experiences, with innovation and sustainability at the top of the agenda. We heard from experts covering key topics including road safety, AI, decarbonisation, social value, sustainable transport and much more.
A packed agenda, we heard from Vaisala on achieving efficiencies through advancements in highway data collection, VivaCity on protecting vulnerable road users with AI, Highway Care on automation in traffic management and Robotiz3d road maintenance reinvented.
Trojan Energy and Believ also took to the stage to discuss electric vehicle charging in public spaces, Meon on Project Highways Zero Model, WDM on PAS2161 road conditional monitoring, Clearview on decarbonising street lighting, WJ on road marking asset management and TRL on compliance tests for newly laid road surfaces.
VolkerHighways also updated attendees on its PAS2080 and social value progress. Around the room was also filled with supply chain partners who had the opportunity to share their products and services, helping to inspire and contribute positively to our evolving sector.
There was also a outside exhibition where the latest carbon-reduction technology, innovative safety equipment and plant was demonstrated.
The event was attended by more than 100 people, including 40 representatives from local authorities, private and public sector organisations and attendees from 25 supply chain organisations.
Peter Walsh, Managing Director of VolkerHighways, said: “Thank you to everyone who supported us at our Driving the Future event. By working together with our clients and supply chain partners, we can drive a better, safer and more innovative future for the highways sector.”
