Location service what3words has delivered a new feature called Locate Link, designed to help find loved ones in an emergency.
By saving a link, users are prepared if they can’t find their location, or they can’t easily say where they are.
The feature works by users sending the to the person they’d like to locate. When they open the link, they’ll be taken to a web page which will display the three words for their location. This page has been designed to have a low data requirement, so it should load even in areas with poor data connection. They can then send these words or read them out over the phone.
