The national network to support women in the bus and coach industry, Women in Bus and Coach, has announced the launch of its Ambassador Programme, a new initiative celebrating individuals who have made exceptional contributions to advancing gender equity and inclusivity within the Bus, Coach and Community Transport industry.
The inaugural Ambassador recognition was awarded to Anne Marie Purcell, Chief Transformation Officer for Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), in honour of her unwavering commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for women in the sector.
The announcement was made at the Women in Bus and Coach parliamentary reception, held on Monday 16th December. The event highlighted the progress Women in Bus and Coach has achieved during its first year while acknowledging the steps still needed to foster gender inclusivity within the bus, coach, and community transport sectors. The reception brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and advocates to celebrate achievements and set the stage for continued progress.

This programme builds on Women in Bus and Coach’s mission to support, connect, and inspire women working across all areas of the bus, coach and community transport industry. By recognising influential figures like Anne Marie, we aim to encourage others to advocate for diversity and inclusivity.
