The breakdown of plant machinery used in overnight roadworks on the M62 in West Yorkshire created long delays on Tuesday morning, says the BBC. The machinery broke down close to junction 24 on the motorway at Ainley Top, Huddersfield, National Highways said.
The body said the westbound section had been closed and traffic was being diverted via entry and exit slip roads.
It quoted delays of around 60 minutes and said the westbound section around the junction would be closed until recovery of the stricken machinery could be completed. The motorway was reportedly running “normally” later in the morning.
