TomTom announce change to leadership as co-founder depart

TomTom, the location technology specialist, today announced that Harold Goddijn, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), will step down as CEO and member of the Management Board at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 16 April 2026.

At the same time, Alain De Taeye’s term as a member of the Management Board will end. The Supervisory Board has nominated Mike Schoofs, currently Chief Revenue Officer, as CEO, following a structured succession process. TomTom Co-founder and CMO Corinne Vigreux will also step down after 35 years of leadership

He co‑founded TomTom in 1991 and has led the company from 2001 onward, growing it from a start‑up into a global location technology business.

Mike Schoofs joined TomTom in 2005 and has served as Chief Revenue Officer since 2023. In that role, he built and led the company’s global sales and commercial organization, expanded strategic partnerships, and developed long-term customer relationships across key segments: automotive, enterprise, and platform partners.

The Management Board will be composed of two members: Chief Executive Officer Mike Schoofs, and Chief Financial Officer Taco Titulaer.
