Loch Restil: BEAR Scotland announces A83 excavation works schedule

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is today set to carry out work to remove material affecting drainage on the A83 at Loch Restil, a freshwater loch that lies in the pass between Glen Croe and Glen Kinglas on the Cowal Peninsula, in Argyll and Bute

Works will be carried out between the hours of 9am and 6pm, and are expected to be completed in one day. To ensure the safety of the workforce and road users, a lane restriction will be in place with roadworkers manually operating ‘stop and go’ boards to allow traffic to travel safely through the work area, minimising delay.

Steve Taylor, BEAR Scotland’s North West Planned Maintenance Manager said:

“The excavation of the material that is blocking the channel alongside the A83 at Loch Restil will restore the capacity of the drainage system and improve surface water management in the area.

“Our teams will carry out these works efficienly, with safety as our top priority. We thank the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.”
