A team from the planning committee of the 2027 ITS World Congress at Birmingham’s NEC have held a high-level meeting with people working to deliver this year’s Congress in the Korean city of Gangneung where everyone agreed to pursue closer co-operation.
The meeting took place during the ITS European Congress in Istanbul, and discussed practical matters around content, promotion and participation.
The UK explained its plans to send a high-level delegation to October’s Congress, while the issues of road safety, data standards and cyber security were agreed to be key subjects.
The UK delegation agreed that the meeting was very positive, and this will begin a close working relationship during planning both Congresses, and likely to lead to them leaving a lasting legacy of safer, cleaner and more efficient mobility.
