Aimsun wins two awards in Abu Dhabi

Transport modelling firm Aimsun has won two awards for one of its most high-profile projects is the Abu Dhabi hybrid simulation transport model.

The project, which is part of the Emirate-wide STEAM+ transport modelling framework was awarded the project team the Certificate of Appreciation for “distinguished practices in project execution,” by the Abu Dhabi Integrated Transport Centre.

Team leader, Oliver Capon, was singled out for special recognition, winning a Certificate of Excellence for his “outstanding efforts and valuable contribution.”

The Hybrid Simulation Model will enhance ITC’s modeling capabilities, adding a tiered simulation model alongside the strategic demand model within the STEAM+ framework.

The Hybrid Simulation Model allows rapid simulation of specific network areas, and accurate representation of congestion, flow metering, ITC’s technology interventions, bus priority assessment and LRT delays at junctions.

Additionally, dynamic linkages to the ITC Data Warehouse will allow rapid modelling of specific days based on the latest count and movement data.
