Amey has welcomed the Government’s continued focus on ensuring public procurement delivers tangible economic and community benefits, highlighting the role infrastructure businesses can play in creating local jobs, developing skills and supporting people facing barriers to employment.
The company believes the updated procurement landscape provides an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between government, industry, local authorities and communities, ensuring investment is linked to clear, measurable commitments that deliver inclusive growth, social mobility and long-term economic resilience.
The updated approach to social value in procurement places greater emphasis on ensuring public contracts support the Government’s wider missions, including economic growth, breaking down barriers to opportunity, improving community wellbeing and creating measurable benefits through contract delivery.
Amey delivers critical infrastructure and public services across the UK and is already working to deliver social value across its contracts: aligning investment with local priorities, building skills, supporting SMEs and social enterprises, and creating employment pathways that respond to the needs of the communities it serves.
