Andy Myers appointed CEO of Umovity

Umovity has announced that Andy Myers, currently Chief Financial Officer, will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer effective 1 October, with current CEO Christian U Haas stepping down after six years in the post.

Over the past two years as CFO, Andy Myers has played a pivotal role in shaping Umovity’s strategy and operations. Prior to joining, he served as CFO of SUSE, the world’s largest independent open-source software company, and McLaren, the British manufacturer of high-performance sports cars and Formula 1 racing team. His broad experience across both software-led and hardware-driven businesses ideally positions him to lead Umovity’s continued growth and industry consolidation.

“I am honoured to take the role of CEO at Umovity”, said Andy Myers. “With its outstanding team and best-in-class software and hardware expertise, Umovity is uniquely positioned to deliver innovative solutions to our customers that improve safety, sustainability, and mobility worldwide.”

Christian U. Haas will remain closely involved as a member of the Advisory Board. Since becoming CEO of PTV Group in 2019, Christian has led the transformation of the business into a cloud- and subscription-driven software leader. He spearheaded the transformative acquisitions of Econolite and Conundra, which laid the foundation for creating two independent businesses: Umovity, a global Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) platform, and PTV Logistics, a standalone logistics SaaS company now led by CEO Steven de Schrijver. Since the separation in 2023, Christian has led Umovity, establishing it as a global leader in holistic traffic planning, simulation and management software, and advanced traffic hardware.

“Leading first PTV Group and then Umovity has been an extraordinary journey, and I am proud of what we have achieved together”, said Christian U. Haas. “I look forward to supporting Umovity’s long-term success in my new role on the Advisory Board.”

Abbas Mohaddes, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Umovity, commented: “We are grateful for Christian’s leadership in helping to build Umovity into a leading global ITS platform and are very pleased to continue working with him on the Advisory Board. At the same time, we are delighted to welcome Andy in his new role as CEO. His deep expertise and proven leadership make him the ideal successor to drive Umovity’s next phase of growth and strengthen its role as a trusted partner to cities and regions worldwide.”
