Apple’s mobility trends report, which summarises the number of routing requests on different types of transport, has been expanded to cover more cities and countries.
There are now 1,158 different data sets showing statistics from countries around the world, including information about walking, public transport and walking requests for the whole of the UK and a subset in London.
It shows the UK is still 56 per cent below pre-restriction levels, with Italy 53 per cent below. German’s routing requests are growing, back up to 15 per cent below the benchmark, the US is only four percent down.
Apple says this data “may provide helpful insights to local governments and health authorities and may also be used as a foundation for new public policies by showing the change in volume of people driving, walking or taking public transit in their communities.”
