Bigger venue, bigger buzz: JCT Symposium draws new exhibitors to Leeds

The new location for the popular JCT Traffic Signals Symposium has led to a surge in new exhibitors in the larger exhibition hall at the Royal Armouries in Leeds.

Adey Electronics, Chris Kennett Consultancy, Kapsch, Local Transport Projects,

Mobius Networks and Braums-ATC have signed up for the first time, joining established participants AGD Systems, ARTSM, Coeval, CT Technology, FLIR Systems, ITS UK, NAL, NOW Wireless, PTV, RTEM, Sensys Networks, Simplifai Systems, Smartmicro UK, SRL, Starling Technologies, SWARCO, Telent Technology Services, Traffic Group Signals, TRL Software, TRP, VivaCity, Westcotec and Yunex Traffic, along with the returning Institute of Highway Engineers.

As well as the exhibition of the latest signals-related technology, the Symposium brings together the private and public sector for a series of learned presentations and speeches, plus plenty of networking.

“Our new location at the Royal Armouries gives more opportunities for exhibitors and enhanced networking evenings,” explained JCT Director John Nightingale who hosts the event.  “We’re looking forward to taking over an entire pub for our Tuesday evening social, and for a grand gala dinner in the nearby Queens Hotel, where for the first time, non-delegates can join for a bargain £100.”

The event also includes a new addition to the programme, “Signallers’ Question Time” where local authorities get a chance to ask leading industry experts to help with specific challenges or issues they are having.  Steve Gooding, Director of the RAC Foundation, is this year’s keynote speaker, and will be using his many years of experience to give a realistic view of the future of transport.  There will be an update from the Department for Transport’s Head of Road Infrastructure Technology, Darren Capes.

The full programme is here.

This year’s JCT Traffic Signals Symposium on 24 and 25 September features two days of academic presentations alongside the exhibition and the two evening networking events.  It is preceded on 23 September by the MOVA Users Group and a combined booking can be made for both events.
