It’s reported some London bus drivers are threatening strike action because they are spending so much time sitting in traffic around Low Traffic Neighbourhoods.
The Times quotes official data showing some worst-hit routes mean buses take an hour to pass two stops, and drivers have now formed an alliance outside their union to speak to Transport for London about the issue.
One driver who spoke anonymously told the paper: “We are sick to the back teeth of what’s happening. TfL have been ripping out bus lanes and now LTNs are making things worse by hugely increasing journey times on certain routes at certain times.
“It means we are often finishing late and having to face passengers who are stressed out and angry.”
