AGD’s “Cone B” device explained on BBC Radio

The ITS manufacturer AGD Systems has had its trial of a new type of tactile signal at signal-controlled crossings profiled on BBC Radio Norfolk.

Kieran Corbally, Senior Commercial Manager at AGD appeared on the station’s breakfast show to explain why the new design, which resembles a large phillips screwdriver, helps visually impaired people know when it is safe to cross a road.

The cone can be found underneath the push button unit and rotates when the green man appears as an invitation to cross, and is being trialled at a crossing in Norwich.
