Core Highways adds industry leader to Board as growth continues

Core Highways Group has further strengthened its position in the UK highways services sector with the appointment of respected industry professional Jason Pavey as Chief Commercial Officer.

A Chartered Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in the transport sector, prior to joining Core Highways he was Managing Director of Operations and Maintenance (UK and Europe) for AtkinsRéalis. He brings vast experience from across all forms of transport including major projects, operations and maintenance, PPP/PFI as well as local government. Mr Pavey is a Council Member of the Highway Sector Council and has played an active role in supporting innovation and decarbonisation through the Department for Transport and ADEPT ‘Live Labs’ programme.

Jason’s appointment forms part of a wider restructure of Core Highways following the successful launch of a single brand earlier this year. With over 1300 staff and more than 1000 directly employed operatives Core Highways is one of the largest temporary traffic management and barrier companies in the UK. The new structure brings capability from a network of 36 depots across five regions: North, Midlands, Wales, South West and South East alongside the company’s Major Projects and Barrier capabilities. The new structure better connects the talented and skilled people within Core Highways to support its customers with industry leading expertise and national coverage across high and low speed networks.

Commenting on his appointment, Jason said: “I am really excited to join such a forward-thinking organisation. I’ve already seen first-hand how innovative and dedicated our teams are in bringing value adding solutions to our customers, including the award winning Digital Care Initiative”.

Lizi Stewart, CEO of Core Highways said “I’m delighted to welcome Jason Pavey to Core Highways. Jason will join the Board and Executive Team. His appointment further enhances our ability to combine our knowledge and expertise to support our customers across England and Wales.”
