Drone footage taken towards the end of last week shows traffic flowing smoothly on the Black Cat roundabout, centrepiece of the £1 billion upgrade that aims to deliver a new 10-mile dual carriageway linking the A1 and A421 in Bedfordshire with the A428 Caxton Gibbet roundabout in Cambridgeshire. National Highways is redeveloping the Caxton Gibbet roundabout into a two-level junction.
The scheme, due for completion in Spring 2027 is currently National Highways’ largest infrastructure project in construction.
