Galliford Try has appointed Richard Towse in the role of commercial director within its highways business.
Mr Towse has joined Galliford Try from Volker Stevin, where he was also commercial director. Before that he held similar roles at Carillion, Alfred McAlpine, Balfour Beatty and Morgan Sindall. He takes over from David Bates, who left the business at the end of December.
Richard Towse said: “It’s been energising to see the journey Galliford Try has been on over the past 12 months and I am excited to be joining such a people-orientated, progressive organisation at such a pivotal time.”
David Lowery, managing director of Galliford Try Highways, said: “Appointments such as this demonstrate our ability to consistently attract high calibre individuals to our business and I know that Richard, with his passion for all the right fundamentals of strategic thinking, risk management and inspiring a collaborative culture will be an excellent fit for our business and a great addition to our team.”
