Highways England has opened the bidding process for the management of Area 12 part of the network in Yorkshire and the Humber region.
The winning bidder will be required to provide all routine and response maintenance, incident response, severe weather services, as well as renewal and small scale improvement projects, on the Yorkshire and Humber network
Area 12 has 494km of motorways and trunk roads and over 1,400 structures. It has a supply chain of 100 suppliers and 400 people are directly employed. The current contractor is A-one+.
