Highways News was launched by founders Adrian Tatum and Paul Hutton in April 2020 to proved the highways and transport technology industry with a comprehensive summary of contracts, initiatives, appointments and innovations.
The website is now expanding to provide in-depth features about different aspects of the industry.
Highways News Theme Weeks will go deep into subject matter to look at case studies, new technology and opinion about a specific topic.
The first Theme Week is launched this week, is focusing at traffic management and signals. A range of experts have written in-depth articles which will be published throughout the week, starting with contributions from SRL and Smart Video and Sensing, and during the week you can also read articles from, among others, SWARCO, Jenoptik, Transport for London and Vivacity.
“Highways News has established itself as the only place you need to go for everything you need to know,” commented co-owner Paul Hutton. “Our new features allow us to get to the heart of the matter but still in an easy-to-read format you can consume on your laptop, tablet or phone, making it straightforward to share with colleagues.”
“From Day One we’ve published more than 3,200 articles of interest to the industry, which is more than 40 per week and significantly more than any other industry site,” added fellow co-owner Adrian Tatum. “Now we’re adding more magazine-style features to the website to deliver a lot more bespoke content that our readers say they’d like. Add to that our popular Highways Voices podcast and future plans for more opinion pieces from industry leaders, and we are really cementing ourselves as the industry’s go-to site for comment.”
Paul has spent more than 20 years in the ITS industry, first running traffic information operations here and in Australia, Canada and the US, before becoming a leading journalist, consultant and podcaster, while Adrian has been in transport for more than 15 years, editing several industry magazines and delivering a wide range of events dealing with some of the most sought-after speakers in the world. Their industry knowledge is key to Highways News’s success in delivering exactly the sorts of stories the industry demands.
