Highways worker from Kent killed in M23 crash named

A highways worker who was killed as he worked on the M23 in the early hours of 8 July has been named as Anthony Howe, says the Argus.

Vilius Domarkas, 38, of no fixed address, appeared in court on Thursday 9 July, charged with causing Mr Howe’s death by dangerous driving in connection with the incident He was driving a Citroen Relay van near Junction 9 of the M23 near Pound Hill, Crawley, the court heard.

Domarkas has been remanded into custody until he is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on August 6.

Detective Sergeant Rob Baldwin said:

“We are continuing to support the victim’s family following this tragic incident. The investigation remains ongoing, and we continue to encourage anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has relevant information including dashcam footage to come forward.”

Mr Howe’s colleagues have set up a GoFundMe page in his memory.
