The Mayor of London has called on the government to continue funding Transport for London’s future projects.

Sadiq Khan told London’s financial paper City AM: “The history of London Underground shows that you’ve got to invest now for the future, you can’t stand still,”  

“We need government support for further investment in both the underground network and more widely in TfL.”

The paper says that, despite City Hall and the Government agreeing a long-term funding package in August, TfL will have to make “tough choices” in the next few years as the government’s funding left a £230m deficit.
