National Highways has been given the go-ahead to make changes to the M60 Junction 18 Simister Island Interchange after the Department for Transport approved the Development Consent Order (DCO) for the scheme. 

This approval grants planning permission to move forward with work that will deliver smoother, safer and more reliable journeys on the motorways in and around Greater Manchester.

National Highways will provide a further update on delivery timescales as part of the next Road Investment Strategy, which will be published in March 2026.
