Messagemaker climbs the Lost Mountain for the Children’s Trust

A team from signage manufacturer and supplier Messagemaker has raised £26,653f for The Children’s Trust by climbing Monte Perdido (the Lost Mountain) in the Pyrenees. This year’s adventure saw the group, which also included a number of Messagemaker’s customers and suppliers, travel to northern Spain to climb the 3,355 metre (11,007 ft) mountain.

The third highest mountain in the Pyrenees, Monte Perdido is located in the Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park. It represents a challenging trek to the summit, which is 400 metres higher than Mount Olympus in Greece, climbed by the team in 2024. This year’s trip began with a flight to Barcelona followed by a 200-mile journey to Torla-Ordesa – their base for the climb.

The first day of the trek was through the Ordesa Valley before a steep, rocky ascent and the narrow Vereda de las Flores section, to the overnight camp. Weather on day two threatened to prevent the attempt towards the summit but with signs of improving, the team layered up against the cold of the higher altitudes and undertook 3,000 metres and a brief stop beside a frozen lake. From here the team pushed on towards the summit and finally reaching the top, enjoyed the views across the stunning Pyrenees.

The outstanding £26,653 raised will support the vital work of The Children’s Trust, Messagemaker’s chosen charity partner. The Children’s Trust, based in Surrey close to Stocksign’s own head office, is the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury and neurodisability. It provides a range of services to support children and their families, including rehabilitation, care, education, and therapy. The total raised this year is more than £9,600 higher than last year, which itself was an increase from 2023.

Michelle Martin, Director of Fundraising and Communications at The Children’s Trust, commented:

“Messagemaker has been a dedicated partner for many years, and we are incredibly grateful to this intrepid team and all those who joined them on this latest climb. This phenomenal achievement shows just how much heart and determination they bring to their fundraising for children with brain injury and neurodisability. On behalf of everyone at The Children’s Trust, we would like to say thank you for their incredible efforts and ongoing support which makes a real difference to the lives of the children and families we support.”

The Messagemaker team was joined by individuals from clients and suppliers including:

Clearview Intelligence, 4way Consulting, Mason Street Furniture, D2D Associates Limited, Tenzing Search, Innova Solutions, and Gartner for Supply Chain.

Danny Adamson, Managing Director at Messagemaker said: “Charity fundraising is a very important part of life at Messagemaker and we are delighted to be supporting the amazing work of The Children’s Trust again this year. We are so proud and grateful to have exceeded last year’s total by such a large amount. We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated and everyone who joined us on this year’s climb.”
