Monmouthshire advertises for new Head of Flooding

Monmouthshire County Council has advertised on its website for a new Head of Highways and Flooding – a £62,647.00-£67,918.00 job which aims to put “residents’ needs at the forefront of highways and flooding decisions,” according to the Abergavenny Chronicle.

The advert says: “This is a new senior leadership role at the heart of our organisation. You’ll work closely with elected members, chief officers, external partners, and national agencies, bringing strategic thinking, financial acumen, and people leadership. Intrinsic to this role is the requirement to put resident needs at the forefront of our highways and flooding decisions.

“We are looking for an inspirational and experienced highways professional who will drive forward our Highways and Flooding service. You will be responsible for leading the teams that manage and maintain the council’s highways and flooding infrastructure.”

The advert concludes: “There will be occasions when evening and weekend working will be required to attend meetings or respond to emergency events.

Applications close on 29 November.
