Mott MacDonald and AtkinsRéalis have been named as suppliers to Government Commercial Agency RM6356 Construction Professional Services 2 (CPS2) framework, one of the UK government’s main procurement routes for construction professional and advisory services.

Government Commercial Agency (GCA) is the UK’s central commercial and procurement organisation, connecting public and private sectors to achieve the best outcomes for the UK and its citizens. GCA uses its commercial expertise to create a simpler procurement experience that redirects valuable resources into essential public services – creating value for the nation.

The CPS2 framework (RM6356), which replaces RM6165, will be used by central government departments, arm’s length bodies and the wider public sector to procure professional services across infrastructure, the built environment and defence. The framework is expected to account for £3.5 billion spend over its lifetime, with a limited number of suppliers appointed to each lot. Among other successful suppliers are AECOM, Ramboll and WSP.

Richard Risdon, general manager for Mott MacDonald’s UK and Europe business, said the appointment reinforces the consultancy’s role in delivering complex public sector programmes.

“CPS2 is a strategically important framework and a critical route to market for government and public sector clients,” he said. “Our continued success across multiple lots reflects the strength of our technical expertise, assurance led delivery approach and our ability to support clients across the full project lifecycle, including in complex and sensitive environments.”

The CPS2 framework will play a central role in delivering government priorities around infrastructure investment, climate resilience, flood risk management and long-term asset performance, as well as defence capability and resilience.

Risdon added: “We look forward to continuing to work with GCA and public sector clients through CPS2 to help deliver sustainable, resilient and value driven outcomes that support national priorities, including net zero and climate adaptation.”

“This framework is a key route for government and public sector bodies to deliver the UK’s most critical infrastructure, defence, nuclear and environmental programmes over the coming years,” said Ian L. Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer, AtkinsRéalis.

“The strong position secured by AtkinsRéalis reflects our ability to deliver complex programmes and our depth of experience across multiple sectors, underlining our position as a truly end-to-end engineering services provider.”

Chris Ball, President, United Kingdom & Ireland, AtkinsRéalis, added:

“This appointment comes at a time of sustained investment in UK infrastructure, defence, energy and environmental resilience. We are well positioned across multiple lots to bring our integrated, multi-disciplinary expertise to help clients deliver complex projects at pace, more efficiently, sustainably and safely.

“The delivery of critical infrastructure is essential in supporting growth and our UK teams are ready to play a leading role in its modernisation and upgrade across the built environment, nuclear and defence sectors.”
