Mott MacDonald has appointed Thomas Knight as development director for its UK and Europe transport business.
The company says that in his new role, he will “focus on bringing technical excellence to clients, supporting the consultancy’s account leadership programme and external client engagement”.
Knight (pictured) brings broad experience and skills to this key strategic role having worked on major transport projects for over 25 years. During his time, he has successfully managed and led teams designing projects, particularly in the highway sector and with significant geotechnical or environmental works.
He joined Mott MacDonald as an industrial apprentice and went on to work in the UK, Ecuador, and Australia, where he was instrumental in establishing Mott MacDonald’s transport business in New South Wales. On his return to the UK, Thomas led multidisciplinary teams working on airport expansion projects and provided leadership support for major prospects, including the consultancy’s recent win for the A303 Stonehenge Delivery Assurance Partner.
Ken Norbury, Mott MacDonald’s managing director for transport, UK and Europe, said: “I’m delighted that Thomas has been appointed as development director. His in-depth knowledge of Mott MacDonald and the transport sector will be pivotal to supporting our clients and seeking out new opportunities to grow our transport business in the UK and abroad.”
