Lancashire-based civils firms Multevo, George Cox & Sons, Multipave and NMS Civil Engineering have secured places on the main civils lot of Blackburn with Darwen Council’s new £50 million highways framework. The quarter beat off competition from 13 other firms for the £20 million civils package covering highway and road construction work across the borough, reports Construction Enquirer.
The council has appointed a total of 10 contractor places across four lots covering surfacing, civils, cold milling and asphalt repairs.
The framework is due to start on 1 October and initially run for two years, with two further 12-month extension options taking it through to September 2030, with contracts expected to be signed from 21 September.
The Lots are divided as follows:
