As Multevo’s contracting division continues to expand, they welcome new Contracts Manager, Emily Merrick, to maintain and exceed a high level of service delivery across highway maintenance contracts nationwide.
Growing up around the industry, Emily joins Multevo with 17 years of highways experience under her belt and a strong understanding of various functions including health and safety and supply chain relationships, as well as estimating and managing contract key performance indicators.
Commenting on this, she adds:
“Highways maintenance has been a part of my life from an early age, my family ran a small business that undertook highways works for local authorities. This has given me the grounding to understand how important it is to work as a team and support each other.”
With her previous experience at Kier Highways as a Quantity Surveyor and later a Delivery Manager, it’s safe to say she brings with her a wealth of knowledge at a functional and technical level, having led the estimating, planning, programming, and delivery of extensive highway maintenance contracts.
Aside from her knowledgeability of the industry, Emily is also a Mental Health First Aider which will help to support the workplace wellbeing aspirations of the business.
Regarding her new role, Emily shares:
“They say once you find a job you love it doesn’t feel like work anymore and I love working in Highways. I would encourage more women to join the industry, especially in the operations side as there isn’t many of us. I believe anyone can be anything they want to be, just set a goal, and take the first step.”
