Kier Highways and National Highways have been given an ‘exceptional performance’ rating for the second time for their A585 Windy Harbour to Shippool project in a recent Considerate Constructors audit.
The project achieved a 45 out of 50, scoring nine out of nine in the main five categories: Appearance, Health & Safety, Workforce, Community and Environment.
The contract was recognised for its industry-leading health and safety systems and exceptional environmental management, targeting carbon savings such as vehicle idling and a move towards hybrid plant.
The team were also noted for their excellent customer engagement, reaching over 20,000 customers in the local community during a road closure to divert a complex water main.
The auditor commented: “It’s very pleasing to see the effort that has been put in since the advisory meeting to address the areas for potential improvement and the site continues to achieve the highest standards of considerate construction in the industry.”
