National Highways looking for input on new Scheme Delivery Framework

National Highways has started the process of market engagement for its new cheme Delivery Framework 2 (SDF2), which will replace its current Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF) and Pavement Delivery Framework (PDF), which are due to come to an end in 2027.

The original SDF, which commenced in 2021, was worth £3.6bn and saw 50 suppliers appointed including WSP, Jacobs, Kier, Amey, VolkerFitzpatrick, Morgan Sindall and Colas. Almost a quarter (23%) of the places were taken up by SMEs, reports New Civil Engineer.

The PDF, which started in 2022, saw 12 appointees including Aggregate Industries, FM Conway, Galliford Try and Tarmac.

Commenting on the move, National Highways said: “All of these frameworks and contracts enable National Highways to deliver renewals and small improvements across a range of activities, including substantial civil and structural works, pavement, barriers and drainage, traffic management activities and design services for a range of projects.”

The launch of the prior information notice (PIN) is an invitation for suppliers to “participate in market engagement activities to inform and shape the development of the overall strategy for the replacement of the SDF”, National Highways said.

Details of how to attend any of the launch events can be accessed via National Highways’ PIN.
