Police chief to chair National Highways road safety panel

The National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for Roads Policing is to take up a role leading National Highways’ approach to road safety.

Sussex Police Chief Constable Jo Shiner will chair the organisation’s new road safety panel, according to a report in Police Professional magazine.

It says the panel will help to drive road safety improvements across National Highways’ network of motorways and major A roads.

The long-term objective is to encourage greater strategic alignment on road safety issues between member organisations.

Jo Shiner will discuss this and other topics when she is a guest on a Highways Voices podcast later in the year.
