PTV Group, part of the international brand Umovity, and the State Office for Roads, Bridges and Waterways, a subsidiary of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg under the Ministry of Transport and Mobility Transition, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing integrated and sustainable mobility solutions.

Through this partnership, LSBG and PTV Group aim to intensify their exchange of expertise and foster collaboration to accelerate urban mobility innovations, public transport and solidify Hamburg’s position as a model city in this domain. A focal point of the collaboration is the development of a state-of-the-art, cross-modal transport management system.

Christoph Heel, CDO of LSBG and Christian U Haas, CEO of PTV Group, formalised the partnership by signing a letter of intent to collaborate on innovative mobility initiatives.

The Free Hanseatic City of Hamburg has set ambitious goals to create a forward-looking, livable urban environment. The city emphasizes innovative mobility concepts through a holistic approach to its mobility transition. Key priorities include expanding public transportation, promoting cycling and walking, and advancing the digitalization and electrification of transportation.

Today, modern technologies, smart algorithms, and artificial intelligence offer tremendous opportunities to develop dynamic multimodal network management systems that enable integrated mobility planning and management. We’re proud to bring our expertise to Hamburg’s journey toward a sustainable and efficient transportation system.”

The partnership builds on a strong history of collaboration between the State Office for Roads, Bridges, and Waterways and PTV Group. Notable successes include their joint work on the #transmove project for smart mobility forecasts.
