Rockslope remediation work gets underway in Scotland

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is set to start rock slope remediation works at five locations within the North West Unit today.

The project is scheduled to take up to three weeks, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Monday to Sunday. Temporary traffic lights will be in place to protect road workers as well as road users during the improvements.

BEAR Scotland has been working with all relevant stakeholders to inform them of the project and share information about the traffic management that will be in place.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “Trunk road safety is a top priority at BEAR, and we’re pleased to begin remediation works at various rocks slopes located on our North West Trunk Roads.”

“The traffic management arrangements are essential for the protection of both our workforce as well as road users, and our teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.”

“We encourage all road users to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up to date journey information.”
