Birmingham City Council ponders speed camera removal

Average speed cameras on Birmingham’s roads could be taken down as Birmingham City Council looks to save money.

The cameras, that have caught thousands of speeding drivers over the years, could be removed from some spots in Birmingham, says Express.co.uk. It is one of the options being looked at for the future of average speed cameras in the city. Birmingham City Council leaders are having to be ultra-careful about how much they will have to spend on new projects.

The aim is to make sure they are affordable and to focus on roads with the most problems with dangerous driving. It comes after it was revealed that the introduction of any new average speed cameras in the city has been put on hold for now.
