Ryan Hood re-elected as ITS (UK) Chair

The Chair of the UK’s Intelligent Transport Systems Industry Association, Ryan Hood, has been re-elected for a third year.

The Society’s Annual General Meeting also approved Karla Jakeman of Innovate UK to continue as Vice Chair.  The topical directors are: International Director: Niosha Kayhani of Cubic Transportation Systems, Membership Director: Graeme Scott of IBI, Early Careers Director: Abigail Oakley of PA Consulting, Finance Director: Andrew Pearce of SNC-Lavalin Atkins, Technical Director: Colin Wilson of IBI and Communications Director: Krishna Desai from Cubic Transportation Systems.  Steve Norris remains as President, Eric Sampson as ITS (UK) Ambassador and Simplifai Systems’ Carbon Ambassador continues to be Keith McCabe.

The organisation also agreed to officially change its name to “Intelligent Transport Systems United Kingdom Limited”.  Despite being generally known as this for more than two decades, the actual limited company was until now known by its original name “RTI Focus (UK) Ltd”.

Separately, the Limited Company’s Directors have been confirmed as Ryan Hood and Karla Jakeman, along with Graeme Scott, Stuart Scott from Mott MacDonald, Clearview Intelligence’s Neil Levett and Andrew Pearce of SNC-Lavalin Atkins.  Two new Directors were elected – Glynn Barton of Transport for London and Niosha Kayhani.  They replace WSP’s Ian Patey and Fraser Sommerville of SNC-Lavalin Atkins, who are stepping down due to the rules of rotation.

The AGM also included a debate about ITS (UK) and Electric Vehicles.  The premise of the discussion was that ITS (UK) has previously not worried about how vehicles are powered, but now with charging points locations, accessibility, security and data generated, the Society should make sure it is central to supporting the efficient acceleration of decarbonisation.  Delegates at the AGM agreed it should.  The recording of this section of the AGM will be available online on the ITS (UK) YouTube channel.

Meanwhile, ITS (UK) has published its new Review magazine which was distributed at the AGM for the first time, and will now be sent to all members who requested a copy.  It is available online here.
