Satellite Applications Catapult starts search for companies to provide architectural, construction engineering and inspection services

The technology accelerator Satellite Applications Catapult has started its search for companies to provide architectural, construction engineering and inspection services as part of its Geospatial Capabilities Framework.

Work would involve monitoring ground changes, producing maps using data and geospatial analysis and undertaking analysis of infrastructure such as power stations, rail, roads and airports.

Satellite Applications Catapult hopes to use the framework to support new and on-going initiatives on a wide range of topics but there are lots focused on engineering and construction with lot 2 looking at change detection and lot 4 on the application of the technology in critical infrastructure.

Work in the 10-lot framework covers a range of areas including change detection, cartography and mapping and critical infrastructure analysis, reports New Civil Engineer.

Bidders are expected to demonstrate capabilities in a variety of methods such as manual methods, automated methods, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Each of the frameworks are expected to run for two years with a possible two year extension. The deadline for receipt of tenders is 17 September 2021.
