Smart Motorway Alliance on the search for local businesses and SMEs across the country to support programme of improvements

The Smart Motorway Alliance is calling on local businesses and small medium enterprise (SME) across the country to get involved in a programme of improvements and enhancements for England’s motorways.

The Alliance is actively seeking registrations for its SME directory, a database of local businesses and their specialisms. This database will be used both by the Alliance and its integrated supplier network to help deliver its programme of work.

Last April, Highways England selected its three contractor partners to deliver the future smart motorway programme. Costain was awarded the northern region, the BAM Nuttall/Morgan Sindall joint venture appointed for the Midlands and Balfour Beatty the southern area.

Highways England also announced that Fluor had secured the smart motorway production management partner role to lead and coordinate the alliance partners. Consultants WSP UK and Jacobs Engineering UK are design partners for the alliance from initial concept to closeout.
