Solar Gates UK has introduced the latest innovation in its INSTABOOM family – the INSTABOOM Flagger, a
lightweight, solar-powered micro-barrier designed for fast, safe traffic management.
Deployed by a single operator in under a minute, the Flagger acts as an effective visual deterrent for incursion control within short-term temporary works areas. Ideal for managing pedestrian or cycle lanes, it offers remote operation from up to 800m away, ensuring operatives stay in a safe position while maintaining control.
Powered by the sun and capable of running for two weeks on 10-hour shifts, the Flagger keeps operations carbon-conscious and efficient. Its rugged, mobile flight-case format weighs just 23kg. Compact enough to fit in a car boot, it includes a quick-release pole with an RA2 reflective STOP sign and warning flag.
Once deployed, the closure is operated remotely reducing the risk of accidents and keeping traffic management teams safer.
Sustainability is at the core of the Flagger’s design. Running on green energy, it delivers effective site control while keeping carbon emissions low.
Neil Sampson, Managing Director at Solar Gates UK, said: “We developed the INSTABOOM Flagger to solve a real problem – keeping traffic management teams safe while maintaining effective road control. Its portability, solar power, and remote operation make it simple for teams to implement quickly and easily.”
