Mobile Intelligent Transport Systems solutions manufacturer and supplier SRL Traffic Systems has agreed an exclusive hire partnership with the UK’s largest manufacturer and supplier of security gates, CLD Physical Security Systems.
SRL says the deal will give traffic managers of longer-term projects access to a “pioneering” haul route solution that promotes the safe and efficient plant crossing of public highways.
It explains the surface-mounted RiseMaster HE requires only one battery exchange each year and features a continuous flanged post of high-strength steel, making the new integrated solution suitable for projects of over six months’ duration. The barrier measures up to 8m so only one unit is required to cover the width of each crossing point route. It also features LED strip lighting along the boom for additional safety and is available with a skirt for enhanced security.
SRL adds that Haul Route PLUS is the only plant crossing solution with integrated adaptive detection technology, incorporating mobile traffic signals that automatically respond to the actual flow of construction vehicles, rather than operating set timings phases to accommodate the slowest plant. This increases efficiency and reduces carbon emissions caused by sitting vehicles. An all-red facility ensures that barriers stay open until the plant vehicle is safely across the highway.
Haul Route PLUS also incorporates temporary solar traffic signals, variable message signs (VMS) and 360° CCTV. All system components now benefit from solar/hybrid performance to reduce system maintenance. In turn, the companies say, on-site risk can be better managed, and users be confident in the fit-and-forget solution.
