Starmer does not say yes or no to LTC when questioned in the Commons

The Prime Minister has refused to comment on whether or not the Government will spend on a new Lower Thames Crossing.

MP for Dartford, Labour’s Jim Dixon, used Prime Minister’s Question Time to ask about economic growth saying: “Investing in a new Lower Thames Crossing to relieve Dartford residents from gridlock caused by over capacity at the Dartford crossing, thereby boosting the North Kent and UK economy by 40 billion pounds. Will be an excellent project to start with.”

However Sir Keir Starmer simply responded by saying: “Under this government, Britain has already secured £63 billion worth of investments. Our number one mission is you’ll be hearing a lot more about that in just a few minutes’ time.” (referring to the budget).

The LTC decision was meant to be made at the beginning of the month, but now must be made by May next year.
