With profound sadness, SWARCO has announced the passing of Carl Dyer, Technical Director of SWARCO UK and Ireland, following a brief battle with an aggressive cancer.
Over more than 30 years with Dambach and SWARCO, he was instrumental in establishing and growing SWARCO’s business in the UK and in delivering innovation in ITS technology, in particular electronic signs.
His technical expertise, and deep knowledge of the ITS Sector helped to position SWARCO as a leading supplier, and his collaborative approach, constructive and innovative way of working meant he gained the respect and trust of customers and colleagues alike. With a commitment to the highest standards, Carl Dyer worked closely with people across the industry to create and grow the market for new products.
He was a trusted and reliable industry member, whose input and advice was always valuable and welcome, including in his role as a key player in ARTSM and the development of TOPAS standards.
“Carl will leave a large gap in the SWARCO Family and in the ITS industry, both in the UK, and internationally,” said UK Managing Director John Pickworth. “His insight, technical acumen, and friendship will be sorely missed by all those that have enjoyed working with him over many years.”
ARTSM’s Executive added that he will be greatly missed: “He will be remembered as being genuine, honest and collaborative in all he did on behalf of the Association and in particular Working Group 3.”
