Traffic Group Signals launches refresh and repair service

Traffic light supplier Traffic Group Signals has launched its innovative fleet repair, maintain and refresh service under the FleetAssist offering.

The company says it is fully committed to sustainability and offering the safest, greenest and most efficient street works, and this initiative supports customer requirements to cut down on costs and keep serviceable equipment operational for longer. Customer’s portable signals will be given a new lease of life by the experienced technical team at the newly renovated Pike Works factory in Birmingham.

As part of the new service, Traffic Group Signals says it is aiming to prevent useful materials and components from reaching landfill through recycling, re-use or remanufacture wherever possible.

Commenting on the new signal refresh service, Tom Miles, Senior Commercial Manager at Traffic Group Signals, said, “In response to customer feedback, we wanted to expand our current FleetAssist offering to include a service where we can repair, maintain and refresh existing fleet. With even the highest level of care and maintenance, life on the road can certainly put strain on the most robust signals.

“Many of the common issues we see, such as controller faults, damaged equipment and missing parts, are low cost to repair but make a big difference in terms of security and usability of the signals.”

Traffic Group Signals says FleetAssist is a signal top-up service that helps customers save money by maximising fleet efficiency. Short and long term signal hire, routine maintenance and repair, upgrades and controller exchange are all available services under the continually evolving product offering.

“At Traffic Group Signals we believe it’s crucial to remain focused on our CSR policy which enables pioneering and sustainable product development,” Mr Miles continues. “Our commitment to technological innovation remains unrivalled as we strive to meet our customers demands and remain as the UK’s leading manufacturer of portable signals.

“To support our customers while the fleet is being refreshed and maintained, part of the new service enables them to take replacement equipment on short term hire, alleviating any unnecessary disruption. We foresee this new offering being in high demand as customers look to a more sustainable future with high-quality equipment which lasts.”

All equipment which is passed through the new FleetAssist repair programme will undergo full and rigorous safety checks and performance tests in-line with the product testing programme for newly manufactured Traffic Group Signals products.

The FleetAssist repair service is available for the Evo Series or RadioConnect2 portable signals and older equipment subject to build standard and parts availability. Customers can contact their commercial manager to discuss individual requirements.
