Traffic hit post-lockdown peak last Tuesday, report suggests

The Transport Technology Forum’s latest Local Authority transport data weekly digest suggests that, up to 5 June, traffic flows last Tuesday were the highest since the beginning of lockdown.

The report, canvassing traffic data across around 35 Local Authorities suggests traffic across the week 41% of the levels seen before the Coronavirus crisis hit, up from 34% the week before.

The researchers also gather cycling data covering around 25 Local Authorities. It suggests that the amount of cycling is heavily dependent on weather.  With poorer weather last week there were far fewer people out on their bikes.  However as the weeks go on we are beginning to see a distinct morning peak for cycling again.
