The agenda has been released for a busy two days of discussion at the Department for Transport’s Transport Technology Forum Annual Conference near Nuneaton in May.
Local authorities and transport technology suppliers will benefit from a range of presentations and panel sessions looking at key issues in the sector during the event at Hinckley Island in Leicestershire, including key Department for Transport policy objectives, Artificial Intelligence, data, connectivity, cyber security and Digital Traffic Regulation Orders.
Professor Sarah Sharples, Chief Scientific Adviser at the DfT will discuss “Transport – from Physical to Digital”, while the Conference will also hear the DfT’s Heads of Cyber and AI. There will also be case studies from Local Authorities who are working to transform their traffic management thanks to money from the Green Light Fund or Traffic Signals Obsolescence Grant. The Conference will again also include updates from the TTF’s Working Groups, the latest about the 2027 ITS World Congress in the West Midlands and news from ERTICO – ITS Europe. Delegates will also hear a summary of a High Level Round Table discussion which takes place on the Tuesday before the main conference, along with Working Group meetings.
The event is sponsored by Clearview Intelligence, for a third year in a row, and they will be presenting on “Integrating Data to Save…”, delivering solutions as diverse as adaptive lighting controls and emergency network response. Meanwhile, AECOM supports the High Level Round Table and Yunex Traffic is sponsoring the opening networking session. The supply chain has also again enthusiastically engaged with other exhibitors being (in alphabetical order): Aimsun, AppyWay, Brightly Software, Castle Surveys, COEVAL, Indra Systems, Messagemaker Displays, NAL, Rennicks, RTEM, smartmicro, SRL Traffic Systems, Starling Technologies, SWARCO, TagMaster UK, Teledyne FLIR, Telraam, Teragence, TRL, TWM Traffic Control, Vaisala, Vianova and Westcotec.
With sponsorship from these private sector organisations, local authority representatives are again able to attend for free, including having their hotel and catering costs covered. 80 public sector delegates have already taken advantage of this offer, with more than 50 local and combined highway authorities represented. With places still available, this is already on course to match last year’s TTF conference, which was the biggest ever.
The TTF Conference takes place at the Leonardo Hotel Hinckley Island from 6-8 May. See the draft agenda here. The Conference is organised for the TTF by LCRIG, the Local Council Roads Innovation Group. To sign up for a place at the TTF Conference, click here.
