TTF Autumn Update features DfT experts on digital roads and innovation

Four senior officials from the Department for Transport will give details of connected vehicle services, Digital Traffic Regulation Orders, policy and road technology services at next week’s Transport Technology Autumn Update in Birmingham.

TTF Manager Darren Capes, who is Head of Road Infrastructure Technology at the DfT, will be joined by colleagues Paul Chandler, Matt Coleman and Martin Rooney at the event on Thursday 6 November.

The event will also discuss the TTF’s role in the industry in the light of the delivery contract extension with the Local Council Roads Innovation Group for a further three years.

There’ll also be discussions around data and standards, the revamped TTF Working Groups, the Manual for Smart Streets and examples of local authority innovation, plus guests from ERTICO – ITS Europe and ITS Ireland.  The ITS World Congress 2027 in Birmingham, which is now fewer than two years away, will also be highlighted with details of how and why both the public and private sector should get involved.

The event is sponsored by TRL and supported by exhibitors Brightly Software, Causeway Technologies, KL Systems, Mobile VMS, Nira Dynamics, RTEM, Simplifai Systems and Starling Technologies.

The Transport Technology Autumn Update takes place on Thursday 6 November at the IET, Austin Court, Birmingham.  A limited number of spaces are still available, including some fully-funded for local authorities.  To join up, click here.
