The British Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Edward Hobart (pictured), will host a reception on the UK pavilion at the Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress in Dubai on Thursday 19 September at 1.30pm.
The reception, sponsored by highways and transport solutions provider Clearview Intelligence, will showcase British innovation in transport technology at the 20,000-person event. It is being organised by the Transport Technology Forum (TTF) and Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG).
A range of UK organisations are exhibiting at the Congress thanks to support from the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), the TTF and LCRIG. Joining Clearview Intelligence on the stand are: AECOM, AGD Systems, ANGOKA, Aurrigo, Immense, Neology, Nicander, Now Wireless, Starling Technologies, Westcotec and Zenzic. Members of the Department for Transport, Innovate UK, Transport for West Midlands and Intelligent Transport Systems UK will also be participating.
The Pavilion’s participants have received a cost-effective way to take part, providing them an opportunity to not only showcase their innovations on a global stage but also make connections and network, find potential business partners, and meet industry experts.
The British Embassy in the Dubai provides trade and investment services and practical support helping UK companies succeed in the UAE. The Embassy DBT team will facilitate introductions throughout the four and a half days of the exhibition, supporting the development of long-term relationships between British and Emirati organisations.
“Clearview Intelligence is in the process of establishing a presence in the UAE, and the support the Embassy offers is, and will continue to be, extremely valuable to us during this expansion process,” commented Nora Ali, Clearview Intelligence’s International Channel Manager. “I and my colleague Pete Cattell, the company’s Head of Technical Sales, look forward to meeting the Ambassador, and are proud to sponsor this high-profile session to benefit all the participants on the UK Pavilion.”
“We really appreciate the Ambassador’s time in attracting people onto the UK stand and therefore supporting our innovative companies showcasing their technology to thousands of industry professionals from around the world,” added Kerry Winstanley, Operations Director at LCRIG who has organised the UK stand. “We are proud to be able to support a range of organisations by delivering a cost-effective way of them attending the event, enabling them to highlight the contribution British companies are making to the transport technology industry, making our transport networks greener, safer and more efficient, and delivering first class export opportunities for the country.”
During the week, the Pavilion will also host Transport for West Midlands’ official launch of Birmingham as host city for the 2027 ITS World Congress (Friday, 8.30am), and ITS UK’s reception with the ITS Nationals Network (Wednesday, 10.30am).
The ITS World Congress takes place between 16 and 20 September at the Dubai World Trade Centre, United Arab Emirates.
