Vip Gandhi to become chair of Stamp it Out

T\he industry-led campaign to erradicate road-worker abuse, Stamp It Out, has announced Vip Gandhi Director as the new Chair of the programme.

Prior to joining Sir Robert McAlpine as Managing Director of Transport, Vip was the Managing Director (Highways) at Keltbray and is a Member of the Board of Trustees at Safer Highways.

He previously operated in Project Board Director positions on key infrastructure projects, including HS2, Align C1, A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon, Lower Thames Crossing and the A66 from Penrith to Scotch Corner.

He also held senior posts at Jacobs, including sitting on the Board of RingwayJacobs.

The move by Stamp it Out further strengthens a leadership team fronted by Kevin Robinson as awareness of the issue becomes greater, demands placed upon the organisation have led to an increased need for capacity and expertise.

Speaking about his delight in taking up the role Vip Gandhi said, “The issue of worker abuse has been a challenge for employers over a period of many years and for too long our workforce saw it as just part of the job. Through the unbelievable work of a dedicated team Stamp it Out has changed this. “Only last month the Respect our Workforce week campaign reached over 10 million people and was featured across BBC news channels and even on BBC Breakfast TV, where the presenters were shocked and flabbergasted at some of the real life stories being recounted.

“I am delighted to be able to help the campaign and programme in any way that I can and look forward to getting further involved.”

The move also sees Sir Robert McAlpine become members of Safer Highways and, in doing so, a partner in Stamp it Out.
